behind the "Times"

The sanctmonious n y times, in kneejerk reaction, is criticising american response to indonesian disaster:ignoring the fact that in two days the red cross has recieved over 3o million dollars, and other organizations millions more. American ships and troops are already moving to the area and great cost .By the time this is overI estimate america will pour in 500 mil to a billion dollars. This does not include huge contributions by american corporations in medicine and water. I have not been informed of any contributions by "Time Inc" or their staff.

huh-nduras

In Honduras a group of political opponents of the death penalty waylaid a bus carrying women and children and sprayed it with gunfire killing 23 people. Fortunately, they did not support the penalty or the death toll would have been higher.

anything to make aliving

some sharp operators have devised away to relieve disgruntled voters of some cash. they have organised a web site suggesting that the voters (contributors)buy goods only from the "blue states". its a good thing they don"t restrict the purchases to only "blue counties" ; the only thing they,d have to eat is sushi.

united nothing with arafat on the side

arafat skimmed hundreds of millions of dollars meant for betterment of the palestinian people but he is a piker compared with the court of kofi annan where u n participants have stolen billions from iraq and elsewhere. if it were not for the u n most of the people working there would have to live with the people they represent in third world squalor. instead of trying to redistribute the wealth of the civilised world they might try to emulate it.

a modest proposal, re:tort reform

punative damages are awarded to insure the defendant does not repeat the same offense. why are they paid to the plaintiff , they should be paid to the community as fines are paid except where the injured party has suffered a particular damage..... class action attorneys would not favor this.

aclu

i can remember applauding the aclu for fighting for civil rights.. protecting nazis right to march in cairo.. protecting free speech... but now that they and "move on" belong to george soros i cannot support them . the oganisation has betrayed its roots .. it is now free speech for everyone who embraces their view . if nazis can march and gays can march and enemy prisoners can demand equal rights with citizens: why can' t christians march, or conservative students express their views freely on campuses ... it seems the agenda is to destroy anything that is not secular or one world promoting....the org has lost its way and is now disgusting in its hypocrisy.........incidentally this is an atheist author who believes in choice, and death with dignity and above all equal rights for all citizens

juxtaposition

most people opposed to abortion and "right to die laws" favor the death penalty. most people who favor abortion and "right to die laws" oppose the death penalty...isn"t this inconsistent?

death with dignity

why are almost all the opponents of a persons "right to die" under 75 years old. probably because they haven't faced the adversity of age or illness.

polls purpose

presidential polls exist to give employment to pollsters, election advisors, reporters, and talking heads. results are as enigmatic and useless as the oracle of delphi.

the shrill and the dread

there are 27 widows of 9/11 who are constantly quoted by the media ,some conspiracy nuts , some just need someone to blame. there are 300 others who blame the terrorists, they are never consulted. is it because reason doesn't draw viewers and readers.

zig-zag zogby

trying to explain away its utter failure to predict . the zogbyites are participating in a sham perusal of election results... this by an organisation that by its very nature should be impartial. the credibility lost by an incorrect prediction is nothing compared to the credibility lost by showing partisanship
