OPEC currency

The latest salvo in the war against America has been fired by Iran's president with a suggestion to OPEC that they institute a new currency and value oil with the new currency instead of "currency that continues to lose value". When are the sleeping political leaders going to realize that while we may not be losing the armed war against terror we are ignoring the constant erosion of our economic clout. We must develop our own oil reserves before it is too late or Venezuela and the rest of the countries that wish us ill can exert the power oil gives them and destroy our economy. In which case their will be no "carbon footprint" to worry over.
